2 posts in one day...yes i know! But i'm learning so many new things each day!
1st- NEVER buy anything from IKEA...or if you do...get someone who KNOWS how to put things together, put it together. I got someone to put my dresser and bed together. Let's just say..i'm basically sleeping on a mattress on the floor bc the bed is broken. And my dresser jiggles like jello and the two small drawers on the top shelf of the dresser...DON'T EXIST! I knew i should have done it myself-or just bought it off craigslist. At least then it would LOOK like what it is supposed to.
2nd- If you go to the beach-esp Manhattan Beach...WATCH for fishing hooks. My roommate spent labor day in the hospital b/c she got hooked. haha... not funny...yes it is. she was walking in the water near fishermen and then felt something tug at her foot...she'd been hooked. It was a BIG ordeal- those HOT lifeguards took her away on a ATV and she got wheeled into the emergency room! So- unless u want to be the catch-be careful!! or make it OVERLY dramatic so the HOT lifeguards will come!
Finally 3rd- Mom is ALWAYS right! Man, who knew that even though my mom is 1000s of miles away...Kay would be RIGHT ON! My roomie-Ania, got the flu the other night. Her temp got up to 105-yes i'm staying away, washing my hands and drinking LOTS of fluids. SO i called Kay- the ONLY mom in the US bc my apt is all foreign...well basically. She said to give Ania Tylenol or something to break the fever. Put her in a luke warm bath-not hot not cold, drink fluids, and of course sleep. That's what I told her to do. But she just went to sleep. We had to call the hospital and eventually took her there but they said to do the SAME thing. WHO KNEW KRAZY KAY is SOOOO RIGHT ALL THE TIME!!! Gosh...i Love my momma!!!
Those are my lessons learned today!
