One Day..I'll Get The Hang Of This..TIme For Catch Up!

Months later...here's an update.

May...
I hopped on a plane and headed back to Atlanta for my dad's wedding. It was interesting considering I really don't know Pam, but it was a great time at home. It was 4 days that involved trips to Athens, a wrestling them party, lots of video of my amazing family and best friends. I think it was the 1st trip home that i enjoyed 95%...the 5% being the awkwardness that I like to call HD (thanks KFo for that name).
But after those 4 days...i hoped back on a plane to LA...when I landed it was right back to work. I spent the month of May covering every aspects of Dancing With The Stars- which I LOVE that is took Maksim till the 100,000 interview to say hey I know you. and Erin Andrews going OMG you're the UGA girl. I just smiled and said YEA!! The whole time thinking...About FREAKIN time. I have to add taht I adore Melissa Rycroft...we totally bonded on an all day shoot. Love HER! May was filled with the BAchelorette Ali interview- who is so stinkin cute. The JONAS brothers- Nick being the cutest...and my first trip to Vegas to meet my 3rd family- the Balkcoms. may started w/ a bang but ended with sadness..with all my favorite producers saying goodbye.

June...
Interviewing the cast of Twilight. that was cool. R Patz is very cute...and K Stew not as awkward as I thought. Also, on the Twilight shoot...Cameron Mathison and I were talking...and he goes...Jenna, I know you have a love of sports,...and we started talking sports...which is pretty cool because me and him didn't talk about my love of sports ever before...in fact i dont know that we ever really talked before.  He gave me a BIG hug and told me that he was gonna miss me on shoots with him...b/c I switched over to the ABC News Desk...so now also working as a Desk Assistant on Network news stories...I'm pretty lucking I'd say.
So, i joined a football league and LOVE the team. It's filled with LOTS of Js...Jenna, Juli, Julia, January, James, Joey, and Jordan. haha plus Speas, Gabe, Kyle, Charles,Aubrey, Chris, Beata. Several of us went back to Vegas for Jules 23rd...and had a great time...minus the flat tire in the middle of NO WHERE...and taking 8 hrs to get back to LA...its a 3 1/2 hr drive.

July...
4th was a BLAST...filled with lots of food and fireworks w/ GREAT friends. I had the BEST birthday...with surprise roses from my Mom and dad...which i thought the tradition of a rose for every year I've been around...23...would end but didnt. They sent them to Bern and Doug's which made me cry. Juli and Julia surprised me witha  night out in Santa Monica followed by a weekend trip to San Diego w the Js, Joey, and Speas. It was perfect...UNTIL...I slammed my finger in the car door....and lost my fingernail. Then a week later I got in a fender bender and lost my license in a storm drain. However, a nice man got tape and wire to get it for me. To top it off...one week after taht...after a football game i lost my keys...my car had to be towed to the dealership and had to spend $300 to get new keys...thanks security. I also got a $65 parking ticket and spent 2 days SEARCHING only to find out someone had my keys. Basically...i LEARNED my lesson this month.

There were several trips to the beach, hanging with FRIENDS...bc i HAVE those now...and lots of fun and work. So that all comes to august...

So this is life...

Yes. I'm NOT good with updating. But when I do...I DO! Actually, it's just that my life has been so busy, which is SOOOO AMAZING!!! I LOVE this problem!

So the last month has been INSANE. I've gotten so many wonderful opportunities. Shoot after shoot after shoot. Working nonstop! On top of that...I'm becoming a regular at DWTS appearances (3 am call times)...soon enough Maks will fall in love w/ me ( a girl can dream!) What interesting characters those are too. Wk 1...Buzz Aldrin- American HERO- 2nd man to step on the moon!!!

Wk 2. the BEAUTIFUL All My Children star, Aiden Turner. He had a VERY good night, in fact pretty sure he did NOT sleep b4 coming into the interview. So flirty and fun on set. Needed lots of water and coffee. but it was the best one yet. He is sooooo pretty. He came over to talk to me, but no worries i used my Southern charm, he stopped talking to me b4 I got a chance...ha!

Wk 3. KATE GOSSELIN!!!! Beautiful!! WAY TOO good for Jon, but definitely lived up to expectations.

Plus, I've gotten the chance to go one several shoots with the DWTS people. Maks=HOT! Erin, Ochocinco-not the character i was expecting, Cheryl, Derek, and Nicole. Plus got to see Jake from the Bachelor- Vienna makes sense. It's crazy!! I LOVE DWTS too!!! It's so cool to see all the behind the scenes. I LOVE this business. I'm where I want to be!!

On top of DWTS, I'm becoming a red carpet regular, guess you could say. Last week, the TV LAnd awards! O yes, love boat. Charlies Angels. The Hoff. Glee. People I grew up watching reruns of their shows. SO COOL! Met Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith. OMG i HOPE and PRAY i look that good at 60! BEAUTIFUL!!!!

These are just a few things I've been doing recently. I realize how much i LOVE to work. I LOVE going to this job.

My prediction for next wk is Nicey or Jake or Pam...HOPING Jake...b/c well I'm not a fan!  GOOOOO EVAN!!!!! ha!

THANK YOU

The past few weeks have been SO encouraging. I came out here and no lie...STRUGGLED. It was tough knowing NO ONE, living in the hood in a room w/ a bullet hole, and not having a job. I think my best friends and family heard more tears than anything. I heard, "just come home" ALOT. But I pushed through even though a lot of the time felt like I was failing. It was rough. But the last few weeks has given me so much confidence not only in myself but other people.

When I decided to move out here, I know most people thought I had lost my mind. I was moving with absolutely nothing and somewhat of a plan. I had a lot of people rooting against me...but so many rooting for me. Looking back, it was insane. But I had a dream. And since I was little, "follow your dreams" and "don't live with regrets" has ALWAYS been drilled in my head. My mom has always said I should take risks, go for MY goals, and the worst that will happen is i learned something

So of course now, I'm loving life. I have a killer opportunity with GMA, friends, an amazing roomie, an LA family, a church community, and confidence. I'm not the same girl that moved out here 7 months ago. But that's not the point of this post. I've heard so many encouraging comments in the last few weeks. Erin Andrews from ESPN said, "I'm impressed by you. To be 22, you have your shit together" FYI i don't...but if it comes off that way...GRRReat! Then, my favorite producer told me that he wants to help me out as much as possible b/c I'm always wanting to learn...do most ppl not? And yesterday, another producer who is leaving...told me that he was impressed by me. He told me I'm fearless, eager, and so hardworking. He told me that he wants to take me with him to his next job. That's such a honor. I was speechless.

When I look at myself, I see Jenna. A girl with a dream from Atlanta...who works b/c I want to. They things I do are not because i'm trying to show off, it's to reach my goal. bc i know the ONLY thing standing in my way is myself. I don't see myself as impressive. I am just living the life I want to live and SO blessed to have amazing people along the way.

I guess I jsut want to say...follow YOUR heart. Follow YOUR dreams. No matter how often people tell you no or what are you doing. GO FOR IT! The only thing that will ever stand in your way is YOURSELF. It's not an easy road...we will always have highs and lows. We will sometimes stop and ask ourselves...what the hell am i doing? There will be a giant mountain that we will have to climb. There will be times when we feel that we can't do it. But the thing that we must remember is that we are not alone. Our lives are not meant to glorify ourselves, it's to glorify God. We are put on this Earth for a reason. Some of us will go on the be accomplished professionals. Others are meant to be amazing mothers and fathers who will guide children on their paths. and Some of us are meant to travel the world/country making a difference in peoples lives. We are all meant to do different things. We are all going to mess up. But at the end of the day, it will not be our accomplishments that matter...it's the relationship with Him.

Sorry I am rambling, but I just want to say...LIVE YOUR DREAM. Go for it. Take risks...b/c the most successful people didn't sit and back and let it happen. I just thank you. Thank you for pushing me to continue, even when i don't feel up to it! We all need to live our lives in our own ways!! I'm still going hard after my dream. I will work in this industry...watch out Erin Andrews...watch out Oprah...I will have your job one day?!?!!!!!

WAIT....is this REAL life?!

What a CRAZY month! In the last month...i've gone on a "weekend drive w/ JEFF BRIDGES!" (yes, the actor). Interviewed KAthryn Bigelow, James Cameron, Lee Daniels, Quentin Tarentino, and Jason Reitman at the Director Guild of America Awards. Worked on shoots with Cameron Mathison (so SEXY) and Melissa Rycroft (The Bachelor reject...AMAZING girl!!) Talked with Oscar winning Dame Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer (Mr. Von Trapp from SOund of Music). Approached Rider Strong (Shawn from Boy Meets World) in a bar. Then...there's MC DREAMY and the BIGGEST AWARDS SHOW!!

So, last week, I decided to go to the commissary. It's a daily thing for me. I get a salad, take it back to my desk and EAT! But this day was different, I got a sandwich. So, here I am standing waiting for my food, when I here..."Georgia Bulldogs." I look at debit card, the Georgia G...and turn around, expecting a camera guy or something. But NO!!! iIt's MC DREAMY, PATRICK DEMPSEY HIMSELF!! I work on the same lot as Grey's Anatomy, so it's not surprising to see them running around. I just laughed and said, "yea!" HE then asked me questions like are you from GA? and What are you doing out here? To that I respond, "Yep, born and raised!" and "trying to work in the entertainment TV industry." He continued with "well, good for you b/c no many Georgians are out this way." I was SHOCKED he was talking to me!!! We ended up both getting our food and sitting at tables RIGHT NEXT to each other. WE casually talked until his friend came....BUT LET ME TELL U...HE IS BEAUTIFUL...NOT DISAPPOINTING!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
^Photos from one of the drivers*
THEN....THERE'S THE OSCARS!!! In early february, I got the honor to be invited to the OScar nominations. I worked early morning to make sure the Nominations made air. I worked w/ a PRoducer, Nancy, and learned SOOO much! It was so cool to be there! But this last week got even cooler!
A bunch of GMA NY producers came in to film the show. i ran around all week w/ my OSCAR credential helping set up thee red carpet stuff, doing walk thrus of the morning show, pretty much doing ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! I felt so cool to flash my yellow badge. I worked right along side GMA co host's ..Sam Champion...producer, DArcy. SO i was with Sam and Darcy ALL week long! What a cool experience. I helped shoot segments  and OOO so much more! I met Robyn Roberts, another GMA cohost...who i ADMIRE so much...and yes me...made a fool out of myself...shocking right. I was in the credential trailer when i saw her...so i bluntly said, hi yall are w/ GMA right? then i said i know who you are...Robyn just looked at me. Sometimes it's like REALLY Jenna?! REALLY!?!?!

It was amazing to GMA's live show at the Governor's Ball on Friday and today at the LA Theater...they are so wonderful. BUt OScars were last night. I watched as stars walked the red carpet and helped Darcy produce her party piece, which was an AMAZING experience!!! It's what I want to do, so it an HONOR to be the wing man for that!! I literally decided some shots to place w/in the piece and helped be as organized as possible...which meant staying up for 27 HRS! Yep...NO SLEEP FROM 6 AM Sunday to 9 AM TODAY! AWESOME!!! BUt SOOOO WORTH IT! The editor and I pretty much put the piece together for NATIONAL TV...that's soooo crazy!!!! I can now say, yep I worked the Oscars. Yep.

Another cool thing...y'all remember Chris Connelly from MTV? He did all the documentaries and news back in the days of TRL. Well, now he's on GMA and ABC and let me tell u...probably the COOLEST man! He's so awesome. I've worked on a few shoots w/ him now and today he walked up to me and was like "hey Jenna Harrison." I mean that's crazy b/c lets be honest, most correspondents do NOT care to really know who i am. But we talked and cut up. Talked all about ATLANTA...i was wearing a UGA sweatshirt...which is a BIG talking to pt...FYI! BUt he's so cool. So real. It makes you realize there are some AWESOME ppl in this industry who aren't stuck up and willing to get to know even the littlest ppl. It's great...so yea, we're like BFFs now. ha! it's just cool b/c i grea up watching these people. DREAMING of their jobs. And now, I'm here working wtih them. It's WOW!

The last few weeks have been interesting in the bureau...pretty much the WHOLE bureau will be laid off in the next few months for me...that's the bad news, the good news...i KNOW im in the right stop. I don't get star struck...i want to do the job and do it right. Plus staying up 27 hrs is ok in my eyes. I'm doing what I LOVE! I can't imagine NOT working in the entertainment industry. I know God will continue to lead my life in ways I can't imagine!

I'm back- this one might be long. my bad.

so i've been away for the past few months. 1st it was b/c my life got so stagnate. NOTHING exciting. It was the daily routine of coffee beans and driving around, but since dec life has been so crazy, i haven't had time. But a lot of fun has been happening, so i want to share...

In a nut shell, here's my Dec and Jan...

Dec: I got offer a PAID position with Good Morning America, nothing permanent, but a step in the right direction!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!

My little bro (Andrew) and the girls (Mal, Anna, and Suz) all came to visit me. IT was wonderful to get to go explore. We went to of course Hollywood, Santa Monica, Malibu Pasadena, and Beverly Hills. We also went to La Jolla to see the seals, San Diego, and the Mexican border where we saw
<----------- this.

It was wonderful to have my favorites around. I miss everyone I love more than anything, so it was wonderful to experience things with them out here.

I went home for Christmas for 1 week. It was awesome. I got to see my family! And Sunny! and of course all the girls, KFO, even Ash and Alex drove to Snellville to see me. It was perfect. The best part was the Harrison children Christmas photo. Ooo and how could I forget a night w/ Kfo, Lo, Jason and my bros  involving Rick Flairs (if you don't know what that is...your missing out!) ATL was great, but coming back was good- new year, new start.

I started GMA on the 28th of Dec and have been going ever since. I brought in the 2010 in a wonderful way...alone in a movie theater...Jeff, my bro, told me he was gonna send me a blow up doll so i appeared to have friends. AWESOME. BUt since then, life has been amazing!

In January, LOTS HAPPENED!!! I moved out of the HOOD!!!! I'm now living in Burbank, it's an awesome area- i can walk to EVERYTHING! it's safe. No more bullet hole. I can cook and eat in my place. I'm relaxed. I have 3 movie theaters, a Forever 21, and URban Outfitters down the street. it's great! My roommate is amazing!

I also found a church!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is such a blessing. it's called Reality LA and it's similar but different than any church at home. It's real...and they study the Bible, which is not the norm out here evidently. I've started going to a bible study to meet people, but of course it's one w/ 1 other single girl and all young married couples- awesome, yes I know i'm single thanks. But everyone is great. I feel finally at home. God has been amazing. He's teaching me so much and growing so much closer to Him. The struggles the past few months have been such a blessing. I've really learned to depend fully on Him. I'm realizing that these struggles make me appreciate things so much more.

So January at GMA has been incredible. 1st all the producers are wonderful! They are so willing to let me do things and really get in the mix. ABC News is downstairs and everyone there is great too. It's such a cool opportunity.

I attended the Golden Globes, saw every actor I can imagine. ALL DISAPPOINTING b/c they are all like 5 foot and rail thin. Definitely NOT gonna date an actor. On a cool note, Kate Winslet stopped me to let me I was pretty. I was embarrassed. ha.

I've also been on shoots with Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer. A really cool shoot with GMA weekend anchor Bill Weir and Actor Jeff Bridges-what a cool guy! I got the opportunity to interview directors: James CAmeron, Kathryn Bigelow, Quentin Tarentino, Jason Reitman, and Lee Daniels. AMAZING!! And I've been on several shoots with the amazingly beautiful correspondent All My Children's Cameron Matheson- SO MUCH FUN! and Melissa Rycroft, from the Bachelor- she is beautiful and so sweet. It's been really cool.

I've been working long hours and babysitting on the weekends, so no real social life. But i have been hanging out w/ some UGA peeps!!! so life is good! I have NO complaints. It's been tough, i'm learning a lot. I'm learning real quick to get thick skin and NOT let anything get to me.

So I'm back! My LA adventures are beginning again! It's wonderful and I'm ready for this ride. To see where I'm headed. I know what's in store for me is gonna be great and HIS plan.
